The 2018 Translate MedTech and MedTech Foundation Innovation Bootcamp was a huge success, well received by all and certainly transformative in the lives of the interdisciplinary researchers who took part. Key to the success of the Bootcamp is the unwavering enthusiasm and energy that Fabian brings, truly engaging the broad range of audience participants. We were enthralled by even some of the hardest topics to cover, such as intellectual property law, and Fabian made the content come to life so that we could apply it to our learning and professional lives. The content was pitched just right, covering an overview of the entire innovation pipeline, leaving delegates feeling more confident and knowledgeable, and eager to learn more and apply their new understanding to their medtech projects.

I have attended the bootcamp now for a second year and cannot recommend it enough. The leadership is excellent, students enthusiastic and hard-working and the case studies are very close to the real world. This course teaches essential business basics in an engaging and enjoyable way and should be offered as part of a PhD training in every University.

I was truly impressed with the performance of the teams - especially in their pitches to the dragons. They demonstrated a good understanding of what the aim of the pitch was, and how to effectively deliver their message with confidence. Indeed, at times, it was easy to forget that the subject of the pitch wasn't real, nor had the teams had any significant related prior experience. Overall, a fantastic and very worthwhile programme.

It was an honour to be asked by Fabian to be a
'Dragon' for the Health Innovation Expedition. I was extremely impressed by the quality of the project pitches and the professionalism and confidence of the teams - particularly due to the short time they had been working together. All the teams seemed empowered and enthused following the training and it was great to see them pledge to take that energy and innovative spirit back to their professional roles.

This is an excellent course which prepares delegates with the tools and knowledge required to understand and navigate the innovation landscape from within the NHS.

I have worked with Fabian now for two consecutive years on the Translate bootcamp for early career researchers, and I strongly believe that Fabian's knowledge of medtech innovation, real life experience and boundless energy has greatly helped to make the bootcamp the success it is. Fabian always puts more than 100% into the course delivery and his ability to deliver what could potentially be some dry content in an engaging way with tireless enthusiasm is second to none.
A lot of participants approached me at the end of the boot camp to thank me for an excellent 3 days and to commend Fabian as a tutor, I don't think it would have been the same without him.
